ISO 9001:2015 — Quality Management System
The international standard for Quality Management Systems, maintained by the International Organization for Standardization. Premier Felt's ISO 9001:2015 certification covers our entire workflow: raw-material inspection, process control on every felting and finishing step, finished-goods QC, customer-issue handling, document control and continuous improvement. Audited annually by an accredited third-party certification body.
GOTS — Global Organic Textile Standard
The leading standard for organic textiles, covering raw-material origin (certified organic wool), chemistry (restricted-substances list, low-impact dyes), processing, social compliance and full chain-of-custody traceability through to the finished product. Premier Felt's GOTS certification applies to our organic wool line — the most sustainable choice in our catalogue.
SAE J314 — Society of Automotive Engineers Felt Standard
The de-facto global classification for industrial wool felt. Defines felt by class (F-1 through F-55) based on density and minimum wool content. Universally referenced in automotive, aerospace, defence and industrial drawings worldwide. See our complete SAE J314 grade chart.
DIN 61200 — German Industrial Standard
The German Institute for Standardization specification for wool felt. Defines grades F1 through F11 by density, broadly equivalent to SAE J314. Specified across European automotive and industrial OEM procurement.
ASTM D461 — American Test Method for Wool Felt
American Society for Testing and Materials standard test method for wool and part-wool felt. Defines the testing procedures for density, tensile strength, oil absorption and other properties used to verify felt quality. Used across US automotive, aerospace and industrial sectors.
BSI BS 2471 — British Standards
British Standards Institution specification for industrial wool felt. Largely equivalent to SAE J314 with minor differences in grade nomenclature. Still referenced in UK and Commonwealth procurement specifications.
IS 282 — Indian Standard
Bureau of Indian Standards specification for industrial wool felt. The Indian equivalent of SAE J314, used in defence, railway, government and major Indian-OEM tender specifications. Premier Felt is a long-standing approved supplier.
In-house Quality Control
Beyond certified standards, every Premier Felt batch passes through in-house QC: density measurement, thickness gauging, tensile pulls on coupon samples, visual inspection for fibre uniformity and dye-lot consistency, and surface-roughness checks for polishing grades. Test reports are issued with every order on request.
WWEPC — Wool & Woollens Export Promotion Council
Premier Felt Mfg. Co. is a registered member of the Wool & Woollens Export Promotion Council (WWEPC), an autonomous body set up by the Government of India under the Ministry of Textiles to promote the export of wool and woollen products. Membership affirms our standing as a recognised Indian wool-product exporter, gives buyers confidence in our compliance with Indian export regulations, and connects us to government trade-development initiatives and international wool industry networks.
Export Quality & Documentation
Export shipments include ISO 9001 quality certificates, Certificate of Compliance (COC), Certificate of Origin (COO), commercial invoices, packing lists, HS-code-compliant documentation, and where required: GOTS certification, FR test reports, FMVSS 302 compliance, or material-safety data sheets. We handle FOB Mumbai/Mundra or CIF to your destination.

Can I see your ISO 9001 certificate?

Is your wool ethically sourced?
Yes — our standard wool comes from Rajasthani sheep husbanded by traditional shepherding communities we have worked with for decades. Our GOTS-certified organic wool line meets the strictest international standards for animal welfare, social compliance and chain-of-custody traceability.
Can you certify compliance against a specific OEM standard?
Yes — share your OEM specification (or its equivalent SAE/DIN/ASTM/IS callout) and we'll test and certify against it. For new OEM platforms we routinely participate in PPAP / sampling rounds with full material-test reports and FMEA documentation.
Do you handle export documentation?
Yes — every export shipment includes complete commercial paperwork: invoice, packing list, COC, COO, ISO 9001 quality certificate, HS-code documentation, and any additional test reports your destination requires.
